T-786 Sand Lake-Mccamey
Scope: Nine pier foundations and 199 lattice towers, comprising 796 stub-angle foundations
Location: Pflugerville, Texas
Client: Lower Colorado River Authority(LCRA)
Legend mobilized to Pflugerville, Texas, with the Irby Texas Region and NorthStar to complete two foundations during the last week of January 2025. The project scope included nine pier foundations and 199 lattice towers, totaling 796 stub-angle foundations.
After drilling the first foundation, water began seeping into the hole, requiring it to be backfilled to prevent collapse. To address this issue, the slurry method was implemented to keep the holes open and allow concrete to be poured. A mobile batch plant was also utilized on-site to support
the work.
Demobilization was also difficult due to the tight workspace, which was filled with other contractors’ equipment. Despite these obstacles, the Limmer project was successfully completed in a week and a half.
Start Date: January 2025
